We have seen this played out before. Morons and criminals like Rice do their bad deeds against society, hurt themselves and the people around them, and then "finally" they have a turn to Jesus moment. Right...
Why wasn't Jesus there in the beginning to stop such dumb fucks from creating havoc in the first place? Yes, I believe in second chances and all but come on, what we would like to see in criminals is genuine remorse for their actions and not coerced blackmail of the soul. Criminals shouldn't lament their actions because "Jesus and the Bible says so" but because we as a modern society demand it and such remorse is only genuine when the criminal in question understands the impact they have committed against the victims and not because of any supposed beliefs in superstitious nonsense. Piety will not erase the damage that they have created, it simply doesn't nor should it work that way.
And the most obvious pattern we notice of these "born again" Christian chumps is their eagerness in becoming bigoted bible-thumpers, transforming themselves into Jihadists in a holy war against the "immorality" of other people, who for the most part are not criminals like them. This is due to an inferiority complex that these criminals tend to have once they have suffered the consequences of their actions. They will scapegoat gays, women who do abortions, fornicators and those who watch porn in order so that in their minds at least their own criminal behavior will be diminished compared to the "evil" homosexuals ruining marriage and society. Its the old "yes I'm a wife-beater drug addict but at least I'm not a fag" mindset of juvenile arrogant bigots who throughout their lives engage in mind-tricks to defraud and lie to others while they impose their destructive behavior.
We see people like another NFL rocker named David Tyree who went on an anti-gay Christian Jihad saying that gays will bring about anarchy. Tyree, like many "turned to Jesus" freaks has a history of smoking crack and other criminal activity. Still lately the NY Giants hired the crack-head to be the team's player development head. I'm not sure what kind of development a bible-thumping crackhead would bring. But again we are talking about the National Felons League here.
Many of these born-again charlatans have a huge rap-sheet of drug dealing, prostitution, crack smoking, domestic violence and other such depravity. But they think they can fool us by using religion and holy ghosts and whatnot to convey that they are not only better then what they were before, but now they are even better than you and me because they have God on their side. This is not the thinking of any sound person who has deep remorse over their criminal behavior but are clear fascist tendencies that Christianity and the other two Abrahamic religions sometimes espouse.
Those of us with normal social behavior do not need to feel "holier than thou" in order to keep our conscious in a calm state. Most of us do not engage in criminal behavior or smoke crack like fucking bums. So the need to be a holy fag basher, for the majority of us, is not there. We actually have lives and we ant to live them, thank you very much.
In another victory for equal rights in this country a federal judge has ordered Hell on Earth Arizona, my current state of residence unfortunately, to recognize the gay marriage of a Vietnam war vet to his dead husband and thus he is entitled to death benefits like heterosexuals (who have a habit of beating their wives and getting away with it). And this ruling is important because the guy needs those benefits in order to save his home he bought with his husband:
